How much does a trip to Québec cost?
Québec is a large and diverse province — costs vary significantly by region and season. The biggest variables are accommodation (Montréal and Québec City hotels are expensive in summer), car rental (quasi-essential outside the two main cities), and season (winter adds cold-weather gear and heating; summer peak adds 10% to most prices).
A note on taxes
Prices displayed in Québec do not include taxes. You will pay TPS (5%) and TVQ (9.975%) on top of displayed prices — roughly 15% total. Our estimates already include this. Tipping (15–18% at restaurants) is also factored in.
Currency tip for Europeans
The Canadian Dollar is weaker than the Euro and British Pound, so Québec is often better value than European destinations at a comparable quality level. Use a Wise card or Revolut to avoid foreign-transaction fees.
