Québec packing list generator

Québec has four radically different seasons — what you pack for February skiing is nothing like what you need for a July city break. Generate your custom list below.

Québec packing essentials — season guide

Winter: This is the most demanding season. You need genuine cold-weather gear — a Canada Goose level parka or equivalent, base layers (merino wool recommended), insulated waterproof boots rated to −30°C, balaclava, ski gloves, wool socks. Do not underestimate Québec winters: −25°C with windchill is frostbite territory. Carnaval visitors often underpack and regret it.

Summer: Warm and often humid. Lighter layers work for most of the trip, but pack a light rain jacket (thunderstorms are common in July–August) and insect repellent (DEET-based, essential near any water or forest). Sun protection is important especially on water (whale watching, kayaking).

Autumn foliage: Ideal hiking conditions — layers are key. Mornings can be near 0°C in the Laurentides in late September, warm to 15°C by midday. A mid-weight jacket plus fleece covers most situations. Waterproof shoes or hiking boots are strongly recommended.
